Let's start in the middle... Exhaustion during the second trimester.

I should probably start at the beginning, tell the story about how I found I was pregnant and so forth.

But, as a mom-to-be there's one big lesson I've learned so far. Not to worry about what I probably should or shouldn't be doing.

So, instead, I'm going to talk about where I'm at on the path to first time mom-to-be right now. I'll be 23 weeks pregnant tomorrow. For those of you who have never been pregnant, this puts me in the second trimester.

What no one ever told me about the second trimester is that you didn't necessarily get loads of energy. I was fooled into thinking I'd be running marathons on 3 hours of sleep after reading numerous Web sites that hailed the second trimester as the trimester of feeling better and having more energy.

And, in case you're thinking it's a medical issue, the doctor hasn't found anything wrong at my appointments.

So instead of running those marathons, I'm waddling between the couch and the bed. And, I refuse to describe my motions as walking anymore with the swollen feet and ankles and enlarged stomache, I'm hardly "walking."

Anyone else feeling seriously drained during their second trimester?
